As rumored, Godwin has been conflict with the local herbalist, Gertrude. Talk to Father Godwin in Uzhitz, and ask him if has any work for you. (Optional) Follow the women at a distance and don't interfere.(Optional) Go to the village women's meeting place at dusk.Speak to the village women about the magical ointment.Go and see Gertrude, the herb-woman, and find out what she incited the Uzhitz women to do.
He then passes out, and awakens at 5am beside the dead bodies of everyone who died the previous night.Three village wenches in Uzhitz want to use a magic ointment, risking their lives and immortal souls. Henry can kill either the devil men, let them kill the women, or kill the women himself. They encourage Henry to " cavort" with them (which weirdly involves him having to lockpick one of the animals behinds), but they are interrupted by two men with glowing red eyes and wearing suits of bones, who attack the women. When he comes to, he is disorientated and it seems as though Vera has turned into a mare, Zlata a sow and Khuta a hen. They begin smearing the ointment on Henry, who sees a man with glowing red eyes watching them, before Henry faints. Henry eventually interrupts, and the women will begin to fawn over him believing his 'The Prince of Darkness', promising that they will fulfil his every desire if he will either rid the land of the Cumans, or grant them riches to start a new life in the city.
Sneaking up on them, he quietly overhears the women discuss the correct way to apply the ointment (Vera informs the other women that it must be smeared on "down there") before they set off towards their meeting place. Henry learns that they plan to meet at the local woods and apply the ointment at midnight, and so follows the trio. When reminded that what she is doing could lead to her being burnt at the stake as a witch, she retorts that they are doing no harm and that God has forsaken them anyway. Henry later finds her, and she angrily blames people like Father Godwin for the attack by the Cumans, certain that it was a punishment from God for their sins. During the quest Playing with the Devil, Henry learned that she lost her whole family, husband and children in the sack of Skalitz, so she along with Zlata and Khuta, went to Gertrude the herb-woman to ask for a magic ointment that would allow her to communicate with the devil to take revenge on the Cumans.
